A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...
Traditions at risk! As the Clone Wars tear the galaxy in half, the Jedi Order continues it's long sought tradition of The Gathering, in which a youngling is baptized as a member of the Jedi Order through the construction of their lightsabers in the Force-sensitive caves of Ilum.
Wookiee Jedi youngling Lowharr and Jedi Master Griff Been are cruising the galactic oceans aboard an antiquated Jedi Cruiser towards Ilum for Lowharr's final rite of passage as a youngling...
The Jedi Cruiser Tython firmly planted it's heavy landing tracks into the snowy fields as the landing ramp lowered into the snow. Wearing only his fur, the teenager-sized Lowharr calmly walked onto the surface. His roars could be heard for miles. Griff, wearing his brown Jedi robe, walked onto the surface with his lightsaber at the ready.
Without saying a word, Griff led Lowharr to the almost-mythical and beautiful Crystal Caves. Lowharr gasped as the caves illuminated the dark hallways of the caves. Griff pointed to a corridor in the cave and Lowharr instinctively knew that he was to go in there. Lowharr inhaled and exhaled as he walked into the corridor.
The corridor was pitch black, no crystals to be seen. Lowharr felt uneasy, fearing a Sith assassin in hiding. He buried his fears deep within himself, knowing that had nothing to fear. The Force and the Force alone was his protector and guardian. "There is no emotion, there is peace. There is no chaos, there is harmony", he thought to himself, reciting the Jedi Code to further bury his fears.
Just then, he saw the strong blue light of his lightsaber crystal. He carefully walked towards the crystal and spread the components of hisl ightsaber on the polar floor. He knelt down and began building the lightsaber. "The crystal is the heart of the Jedi. The heart is the crystal of the Jedi. The Jedi is the crystal of the Force. The Force is the blade of the heart. All are intertwined: the crystal, the blade, the Jedi. We are one" Lowharr recited that ancient mantra over and over again as any youngling/Padawan was supposed to. The pieces of the lightsaber slowly came together.
Just then, he heard the ignition whizzing of a lightsaber. Not any lightsaber: a crimson lightsaber only held by one faction: The Sith. Lowharr grabbed his newly-constructed lightsaber and clashed his blue blade with the red blade of a figure whose height towered above the small dimunitive Lowharr. The figure went straight for the head, but Lowharr blocked the attack. Lowharr noticed the blade had six spikes on each side. He wondered to himself how one could hold a blade like that, but he was more concerned with keeping himself alive.
Lowharr slammed his blade onto the figure's, but the figure forced the blade off and sliced off Lowharr's arm. The figure then stabbed Lowharr through the heart. He thudded to the floor. As he watched on in horror, the figure slowly dissolved like a ghost, revealing a face: his face.
Lowharr then woke up. He looked around the cave in shock. "Thank Bacca" he thought, hugging himself. He lifted his hand to find a lightsaber: his lightsaber. He carefully placed his lightsaber on his belt. Before leaving, he looked aorund to see if it was truly a dream. He then ran off to Griff and left Ilum for Coruscant. He was extremely shaken and oculd not keep his own face out of his mind. He decided to keep it to himself and stayed in the quarters for the trip, feeling scared and alone.
